Singapore’s bike-sharing operator Isuda recently launched a design competition in partnership with the Bicycledesign.net website. Altogether 13 different projects of bicycles or bicycle stations were submitted by candidates. Among the most interesting and bold propositions is the “Isuda concept bike“, developed by Matthew Boobyeer. This project consists in bike stations installed on trailers that can easily be moved around the city to fit riders’ needs. Stations’ availability can be checked from a distance thanks to a lighting system. Another innovation is the presence of an umbrella holder at the back of the bike. Other noteworthy projects competing include foldable bicycles (the “Foldable and easy transportable city bike” by Zhang Ting Ting, the “Foldable city bike” by Asta Sad and “Hubert” by Matt Juhani Pekkanen) and an hybrid vehicle mixing walking and cycling (the “Wabing” by Marcelo Martinelli).
