What would happen if all the subway systems were connected to form one giant, borderless network ? The collective of designers ArtCodeData imagined this utopia by creating the World Metro Map.
Based on the “New Babylon” map created by the architect Constant Nieuwenhuys in 1959, the World Metro Map connects all the subway systems of the major cities in the world to represent human mobility. The digital collage currently gathers 791 lines and 11 924 stations together, forming a mega subway system with wich you can travel from New York to Sao Paulo at a glance. A pretty whimsical commute!
